I'm a huge lover of idle games, especially since I spend most of my life online. It's nice to progress towards a goal whilst I afk or work on one of my many projects. A nice distraction from the otherwise mundanity of my usual existence. I enjoy how noncommittal they are, too.
Cast n Chill is perhaps the most beautiful idle game I've ever played, however. The pixel art is gorgeous, and I love the look of the water. It's so relaxing to just watch the program run in idle mode, though it does allow you to take an active role instead if you're prefer!
The sound design is superb too, remaining engaging but not too overwhelming to the point of having to turn it off. Every now and then I'll hear some birdsong, or the sound of waves under the boat, or the sound of coins clinking as I cash in on the fish I've caught. And it's just so thoroughly relaxing, it really helps me focus on my work when I get small breaks to watch the game run itself in serenity!
I'm also just really autistic about fish and fishing games in general. I love fishing mechanics, and the active fishing mechanics in this game are a lot of fun if you care about that! I don't tend to actively play this game as I treat it more of a pretty screensaver for my second monitor.
But yeah... Highly recommend if you also enjoy idle games! If you hate idle games, don't purchase it just because it's pretty. It might be nice as a screensaver like I said, but it is very much playing into the idle game staples!
Oh, and don't forget to tip the trader!
