Please play it, if only to gain a greater understanding of one of the biggest RPG maker horror game inspirations. |
| Left 4 Dead 2 | Quite possible the best zombie shooter to date. Stomps every new title, I promise. Why recommend the second title? Well, that's because the second game also includes the first game characters and campaigns, so it'd be a waste to purchase the first when it's included in the second. I've been playing this game since it released on the XBOX360 and I'm still not bored of it! |
| Disco Elysium | It's honestly difficult trying to put into words just how much I adore this game. It's such a heartfelt, amusing, depressing, tearful, life altering experience, and I think everyone should try it at least once. Some might argue that this is not a game, and is instead a novel. I think it can be both! |
| Divinity Original Sin 2 | Before Baldur's Gate 3, there was Divninity 2. And of course, before Divinity 2 there was the original Divnity, but I truly think that the sequel is one of the single best RPG experiences I've ever had the pleasure of playing. I've spent so many hours with this game, and love returning to the story! |
| Fear & Hunger 2: Termina | The first Fear & Hunger is so good too, however, Termina is where I started with this series, and I cannot recommend it enough! It's so brutal, and honest, and such a satisfying experience... But be warned! Please look up trigger warnings beforehand if you're at all sensitive. The game deals with heavy and disturbing subject matters, and includes a lot of violent and vile graphic scenes and descriptions! |
| Max Payne | The beginning of the Remedyverse. I feel as though I shouldn't need to say more! |
| Neon White | One of the single most fun gaming experiences of my life! I'm not big into speedrunning, but this game is so effortless in every aspect. Aesthetics, controls, difficulty, OST, characters, story, mechanics... Super fun if you have friends to compete with! I still regularly think about and replay this game. |
| Paradise Killer | It's my most favorite game of all time, so of course it belongs on this list! I find it difficult to succinctly describe as to why I adore this game... Just please give it a shot, especially if you love 3D exploration and visual novels! |
